Come meet Dr. John Massey and his lovely wife Vanessa, as he shares his heart for missions.

Dr. Massey joins FBA with extensive experience in missions leadership, pastoral ministry, theological education, and Great Commission mobilization. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Professor of Missions at Baptist University of Florida. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, including serving as Dean of the Roy Fish School of Evangelism and Missions.

Throughout his ministry, Dr. Massey has provided leadership in strengthening missions engagement globally through partnerships with the International Mission Board and other global ministry initiatives. From 2001 to 2012, he served with the IMB in Singapore, where he taught theology, church history, and Baptist history while serving as Team Strategy Leader for Singapore and Southern Malaysia. His overseas ministry experience also includes theological training, and missions work in Malaysia, China, Pakistan, Brunei, and Germany, along with leadership in developing and expanding global theological education programs.

Dr. Massey and Vanessa relocated to Georgia from Florida in mid-May and celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on May 15.
