Challenge 1 // Read your Bible every day

I would like to ask that each child read at least 2 verses from their Bible every day. This sounds simple, but the challenge is starting and not stopping for 30 days. If you can accomplish this task you will be well on your way to developing the discipline needed to be a lifelong daily Bible reader. Once you start you will want to continue reading more and more every day.

Challenge 2 // Pray every day

This should be easy. You can pray anywhere at any time, for anything. Sounds easy? It is. Remember, when you pray you are talking with the God of all Creation who made you for a special purpose. He has a plan for your life. Your job is to get to know God, at any age, in a deeply so that you will be able to see clearly His plan for your life. This only happens when you know Him better than anybody else.

Challenge 3 // Memorize Scripture

I remember my Sunday School teachers asking me each Sunday, did you memorize your Bible verse this week? My parents would encourage me every night to work on my memory verse for Sunday School. Why? Because they understood the importance of “Hiding God’s Word in my heart.” Memorizing the Bible is a very important part of our Christian life and it is important that we make it a part of our daily lives.

1st- 4th Graders

Your weekly challenge is to memorize your Sunday School memory verse. Your teachers share the verse with you each week. They also provide fun and exciting methods that will help you commit it to memory. The verse is printed on your weekly Take Home Page. The verse is printed on the Weekly Worship Update. And the verse is emailed to your home every Thursday afternoon. There is no reason that you can’t memorize it in a week.

5th- 6th Graders

It is time for you to go one step further. At this point it is time for you to memorize the Bible more aggressively and with greater depth. Your challenge is to focus on memorizing multiple verses and key passages from the Bible. The goal is for all 5th-6th graders to memorize at least 10 consecutive verses. The following Key Passage list is provided as suggestions of possible verses that you might want to memorize. Remember the key to this challenge is to memorize 10 consecutive verses.
