Thank you for your interest in the Lay Counseling Ministry here at FBA!
Lay Counseling is a key component of the Counseling Ministry and serves a vital role in helping to meet the many needs of our church body.
The Lay Counseling Ministry assists the Counseling Ministry in meeting the following objectives:
- To provide support for persons who are hurting and in need of healing, or in need of spiritual encouragement and direction.
- To offer loving and godly counsel to help lead persons to appropriation of the Truth of their identity in Christ and their relationship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.
- To help individuals learn how to walk out this Truth victoriously in their circumstances with a new found or refocused dependence on God.
Lay Counselors are members of First Baptist Church Atlanta who have been called to this volunteer ministry of helping.
Each commissioned Lay Counselor submits to a rigorous screening and application process and upon acceptance undergoes many hours of intensive training, continuing education and supervision to ensure that they are equipped to provide godly, biblically based discipleship in all areas of life: relationship issues, marital problems, career/work issues, depression, anxiety, grief, anger and discerning God’s will – just to name a few.
We are blessed to have a team of committed men and women who serve in this capacity here at FBA. If you sense a call from the Lord to this ministry, we would be delighted to walk with you towards that goal.
As soon as the application process is opened, you will receive all necessary documents via email. Please indicate in your message if you would like to be contacted directly. Thank You!
