Hi Everyone:  we had a great first class with Brigette leading us through the “Answers in Genesis” material.

Class Review

We discussed the relevance of Scripture and its impact on our lives, both intended and actual.

Many of our unchurched or newly-churched friends may:

-       not appreciate the importance of Scripture.

-       take out the parts they don’t like or agree with.

-       even totally deny its inspiration and/or inerrancy.

We don’t know what we will face in our day-to-day lives, so we need to be prepared to discuss gently with others our beliefs and the relevance of Holy Scripture.

Class Business

There was an idea to have a designated lunch place after class. This week it is “Jason’s Deli” (the one in Dunwoody off Ashford-Dunwoody Road, near the Wal-Mart).  If this idea takes off, we’ll need someone to organize the place each week. Mark has agreed to put this on our Web site as well.

Those or you who would like Answers In Genesis participant workbooks, please let Mark, Brigette, DR, Mike, or Anita know, and we’ll get you one. Mark has bought a few for our use. You won’t be unprepared for class if you don’t have a workbook; it’s totally up to you.

We have a tentative miniature golf class activity planned for June 12.  More information forthcoming in class

Class Coordinators

Greeters – guy & girl to say hello and look for visitors

Hospitality – guy & girl to sit with visitors during class and get info; help call people who miss class

Prayer – assist with class prayer concerns

Care – internal and possible external card ministry for class (might have a volunteer for this--Cindy?)

Fellowship – monthly social events (we might have a volunteer for this--Bob?)

Service – help coordinate class projects; several indicated interest, but need a coordinator

Small Group Discussion Leaders

Treasurer/Admin – help Anita with collecting money for class events and needs; help with roll; help call those who miss (Jonathan?)

I haven’t started picking people yet, the names listed are those who expressed an interest. Please confirm with Brigette, DR, or Mark as Anita and I will be out the next two weeks.
