Sign-up for...Disaster Relief Orientation

 

 


 

Disaster Relief: 
Phase 1 Credentialing Training is required for all volunteers.  At this credentialing and training session, you will receive an introduction to the Disaster Relief Ministry of Georgia Baptists as well as hands-on training in one of the five ministry areas.  Phase 1 credentialing trainings are held each January, February, and March in preparation for the storm season.  Recertification can be accomplished at these trainings.  (Credentialing Training Fees if paid by registration deadline:  Phase 1=$40, Recertification = $20, Cross-training in another Ministry Area = $40.)

Phase 1 Schedule: 7:30 - 9:00 AM:   Check-in and ID Photo (Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM) 
9:00 AM-12:00 PM  Introduction/Orientation to Disaster Relief 12:00 PM  Lunch (Provided) 
12:45 - 3:45 PM  Training in Ministry Area 
3:45-4:00 PM Commissioning Service 

Introduction (Orientation) to Disaster Relief is for those persons who want to learn about Disaster Relief and see if it is a ministry they would like to be part of.  (Registration is required but there are no training fees.  It's FREE!) Recertification cannot be accomplished at this event.


Recertification is required every 3 years to remain active and can be accomplished at any of the Phase 1 Credentialing Trainings offered in January, February, and March of each year.  If attending for recertification in Childcare, Communications, Clean-up & Recovery, or Feeding, attendance is only required at the morning session.  If attending for recertification in Chaplaincy, attendance is required at both the morning and afternoon sessions.  (Recertification Credentialing fees if paid by registration deadline:  $20.)
