James T. (Jimmy) Haines is the director of counseling. He and his wife, Nan, have been married since 1981 and have four children – Noelle, Hutch, Anna and Hunter. Jimmy was ordained for the Gospel Ministry in 1983. He holds a bachelor's degree in music from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala., and a master's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Jimmy enjoys golf, fishing, musical theatre and spending time with family and friends.

JANICE THOMAS

Janice Thomas is a staff counselor at First Baptist Church Atlanta. She is the coordinator for the Intensive Counseling Program and counsels couples and individuals. Additional ministry involvement includes intercessory prayer and serving as a speaker/teacher at women’s conferences. Janice received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Georgia State University and a master's in Christian counseling from Luther Rice Seminary. Janice and her husband of 36 years, Floyd, have two adult daughters and two grandchildren. Janice enjoys meeting people of all ethnicities and finding out about their history and unique cultural norms. She also loves traveling with her husband and reading.
