Intensive Counseling associates offer an intensive counseling program supported and maintained by the Counseling Ministry of First Baptist Church Atlanta. The program is built on Biblical principles that are reflected in the Exchanged Life Approach to Christian counseling. This approach has been used successfully at First Baptist Church Atlanta since 1980, and application of the Exchanged Life method in an intensive counseling environment has proven to be successful.

When the believer participates in the intensive counseling experience, it is anticipated that his desire is to mature in Christ and to come to a more intimate relationship with Him. It is our belief that underlying every problem there is a spiritual issue; therefore, the focus of our counseling is not on behavioral change but on spiritual transformation.
